Cada cueca parte de una palabra o de una idea breve \u2014<em>sin sol<\/em>, <em>quedamente<\/em>, <em>esperar<\/em>\u2014 que funciona casi como un estado corporal o an\u00edmico.<\/p>\n<p>Desde ah\u00ed se definen el tempo, el peso r\u00edtmico, el tipo de gesto mel\u00f3dico y la densidad arm\u00f3nica. Algunas cuecas son m\u00e1s contenidas, casi suspendidas; otras, m\u00e1s \u00e1speras o agitadas. El poema no determina la forma, pero s\u00ed el car\u00e1cter: hay palabras que piden insistencia, otras repetici\u00f3n, otras desgaste. Palabras como <em>sed<\/em>, <em>espera<\/em> o <em>desamor<\/em> sit\u00faan al oyente en un territorio emocional espec\u00edfico antes incluso de que suene la primera nota.<\/p>\n<p>La m\u00fasica, en cambio, puede decir algo que el poema no alcanza: el tiempo real de esa espera, la insistencia f\u00edsica del ritmo, el peso del cuerpo que baila o que recuerda haber bailado. La m\u00fasica no explica, pero insiste; no nombra, pero expone. Para m\u00ed era importante que la cueca siguiera siendo reconocible como tal, que no se perdiera su anclaje corporal y cultural.<\/p>\n<p>Al mismo tiempo, sent\u00ed la necesidad de empujar el g\u00e9nero hacia otros lugares: alargar secciones, omitir la segundita en algunos casos, trabajar con resonancias, con densidades arm\u00f3nicas poco habituales o con la idea de una cueca doble. No lo entiendo como una ruptura, sino como una expansi\u00f3n. La cueca es una m\u00fasica profundamente compartida, ligada a la memoria, a la fiesta, al encuentro, incluso cuando habla de p\u00e9rdida o de tristeza.<\/p>\n<p>En este ciclo, la cueca funciona m\u00e1s como un espacio de reflexi\u00f3n colectiva que como una danza de coqueteo. El car\u00e1cter social aparece en la elecci\u00f3n misma del g\u00e9nero: escribir cuecas es dialogar con una tradici\u00f3n que nos atraviesa como comunidad. En <em>De desamor<\/em> no busqu\u00e9 representar una identidad boliviana de manera expl\u00edcita, pero s\u00ed trabajar desde ella, desde una forma de sentir el tiempo, el ritmo y la melod\u00eda.<\/p>\n<p>Creo que la idiosincrasia boliviana se manifiesta en esa mezcla de contenci\u00f3n y exceso, de melancol\u00eda y energ\u00eda, de ritual y cotidianeidad.
