Using these song to learn (El uso de estas canciones para aprender, dirigido a nuestros lectores angloparlantes)

When I learned Spanish, I listened to Spanish music constantly. I was fascinated with it. Sometimes I would sing along without even knowing what I was saying, and undoubtedly this helped my pronunciation. As I progressed in my studies, I sometimes listened to those songs again, and I would try to figure out what I had been singing all those years. I invite you to do the same! Click on the music player below to get started.

These songs are great! I jam to them all the time. Most of them are #1 hits. Listen to them and sing along. Then, take a deeper look at them by analyzing their lyrics for linguistic gems! It’s a fun and productive way to improve your Spanish in an authentic setting. Try searching Google for the name of the song and then “letras” after it. For example, search “Shakira Hay Amores letras”. My only suggestion is that you watch out for the spelling and accent marks (sometimes native speakers tend to leave these off on lyric sites).
