Long weekend=Bedhead

Sunday, August 31st, 2008

Right now, I reclined in my favorite chair listened to the smooth sounds of Ryan Adam’s most recent fan bootleg compilation, Bedhead VI. Bedhead VI is a dream for an obsessive compulsive Ryan fan like myself. It is over six and a half hours long, to start with, spanning 102 tracks. Every one of the tracks is awesomely high quality soundboard too, then mixed and arranged by some diehard fans over at Ryan Adams Archive.

Of course, since it’s Bedhead VI, there have been 5 similar compilations prior to this, all of which I have collected, labeled, organized and archived. OCHD is fun.

Long weekend also is bedhead in other ways, of course. I just woke up from a 3.5 hour nap.

Bananas. Who else?!

Here’s a quick piano Covertown. Haven’t done a piano one in awhile. Never played this song before, but Bets said it sounded good. I told her that’s all that matters then.

Off to shave! I’m looking scruffy.

Kitty is on top of my monitor right now. He picks weird places to sit down.

After reading that John Mayer has recently again broke with a popular, mainstream attractive female, I thought I’d cover this song to remind everyone, “Well, he did warn you!” Do these girls just not listen to this man’s music or what? Or do they just not care? Do they think he doesn’t mean it when he sings:

“If my past is any sign of your future,
you should be warned before i let you inside”

and

“I will beg my way into your garden,
Then I’ll break my way out when it rains,
Just to get back to the place where I started
So I can want you back all over again.

You’re working with the damaged remains of a world weary man who clearly says “you should be warned.”

Now that he has achieved true celebrity, he should forget all the real, transparent lyrics that won him the hearts of young ladies everywhere. I think it’s about time for a concept album to win over the old man rocker types and Yes fans.

Woa, two days in a row. Seems like I’m back on here. More Morrissey. (ha! that’s funny!). Betsy introduced me to this song. She used to have this CD in her glorious black CD case with the stickers on it. Learned lots, yep, lots.

Right now I’m listening to Something About Airplanes by Death Cab. Betsy said she needed me to play some songs cause she has “Pegadito” (Tommy Torres) stuck in her head. ha!

Tropicana Peach Orchard Punch is good… Especially 4/$3 at the Publix.

Kitty is sitting like a gargoyle on my desk getting ready to attack my hand because I am typing. He’s so cute.

I like conga drums.

Yes, this is a rambling random post.

So, it’s been awhile since my last Covertown…been busy, yep, yep. I did one a few days ago, but I didn’t like it that much, so I didn’t post it. I’m settling into the new routine a bit now. Covertowns are also great for helping me relax and zone out a bit sometimes. I hope they can help you do the same, I guess. Or at least provide all my faithful readers (read: stephen p, E, BMJ, and mama, haha) with a place to post some comments and keep in touch! Thanks, all of you!
