Congrats – Aaron and Karina

Saturday, October 28th, 2006

Betsy picked me up yesterday and we went down for the rehearsal dinner for her cousin’s wedding, which is today. We ate way too much! When we got here, I was tired, so I took a nap for a couple of hours with Shadow Kitty and then hung out with Betsy among the guests. The food was excellent (because Betsy had a hand in it, hehe)! I ate once at around 5 and again at around 10. Thanks!

The boys had fun playing foos-ball most of the night. I got some video of it that I’ll put up on Zach TV when we get back home.

S1E7

I had to shoot some video on basically the first cold day of winter. Today I wore a sweater. I turned the heat up a bit in my classroom to make it nice and cozy. Betsy tells me that there it will freeze tonight. There is a freeze advisory, a wind advisory, and a fire advisory. I was confused about the fire warning, so Betsy explained it to me. It means that it is very dry outside, so fires can start easily.

Last Week’s Authors Reception

Monday, October 23rd, 2006

Today was a nice productive Monday. Seems like I have a lot to catch up on, however, particularly with respect to blogging! I hate it when other things (like work, hehe) cut in to my blogging time.

Last week, with all the craziness of homecoming week, I forgot to write about the authors reception at SPSU. Southern Poly held a very nice reception for all of its authors from the previous year, of which I was very proud to be one. I got to see all of my friends there! It was very nice. I saw all of my old professors and got to rub elbows with them all. President Rossbacher even mentioned me in her speech! It was quite an honor. Here is a link to all of the authors.

Homecoming Week – Definitely Different

Tuesday, October 17th, 2006

Pirate PreviewThis is homecoming week, and with it comes dress-up week. This week, the students (and a few teachers) are dressing up. Monday was Pirate Day. Betsy and I were quite proud of the little outfit we made. This week has been quite strange. There’s just something funny about having a meeting with an administrator when you’re dressed like a pirate.

Craft night!

Sunday, October 8th, 2006

Last night we weren’t feeling very good, so I thought it would be nice to have a craft night. We took out some construction paper and colors and starting making stuff. Betsy’s theme was “pastoral nights” and my theme was “Don Quijote.” We were very proud of our creations! You can see the stuff we made on the PhotoBlog. It was very relaxing.
