About tlön, uqbar, zacarías

tlön, uqbar, zacarías is a weekly blog. Its purpose is to organize Zachary’s thoughts and to share them with his colleagues, friends, and family. Currently, the blog speaks to many aspects of Zachary’s life, including his teaching, learning, research, home life (his dear wife Betsy), and his music interests. It is “unofficial” in that it does not represent any particular entity other than myself.

The blog’s title, tlön, uqbar, zacarías, refers to a short story by Jorge Luis Borges entitled Tlön, Uqbar, Orbis Tertius. The full text of this story can be found here. In short, the story speaks of an artificial universe. This blog, hence, is an online world of my own creation. Futher, the linguistic elements of the story relate well to the linguistic focus of this blog.
